Campfire Legend: The Last Act

Saturday 1 February 2014

Finally I can finish this game. Seriously it is the most STRESSFUL hidden object game I’ve ever played. My blood pressure got higher when playing the first two acts of the game. Lol. So dark and the firefly-hint buttons are rarely found. Almost never, I mean. Too many procedures and puzzles. I read some reviews by some Campfire Legend trilogy players and they looked like being disappointed by its end, but I didn’t. It ended not as great as I expected but at least it had a CLEAR ending.

It had the creepiest atmosphere among the whole three episodes which scared me so badly to play it in the night, alone in my bedroom. But the noisy from my mommy and younger cousin really pissed me off because this game required HIGH concentration, so I decided to move into my room and close the door. Play in there.. alone. Oh, the graphic was indeed.. not the worst, this episode DID need the creepy scenes everywhere. I just think Last Act had ugliest graphic compared with the beautiful scenes The Hookman had and the cute appearance The Babysitter offered. No matter what, they are creepy!!

In The Hookman, the game had story about an experiment to bring death to life by Dr. Hookman which he wished to make it success to his children. He kept his children’s spirits deep in a cemetery but the experiment was failed. People around their living know what he had done so he needed to move into other place. That was Stillwater Mansion where he continued his experiment in its secret underground room. Then in The Babysitter, a family with their twin daughters, Maggie and Libby, moved into that mansion and the parents hired Lisa to babysit their twin daughters for one night.

Maggie who had bad act, purposely pushed her twin sister fell from stairs while they were playing to death. Dr. Hookman used his experiment to the dead girl whom he considered as the replacement of his children. The experiment product was a serum which should be injected continuously to the participant which actually was not perfect yet. Lisa who wanted to help Libby at the first place precisely had being the next victim of experiment participant. Since that night, people never saw her again.

In Last Act, Reggie, Lisa’s sister who is the friend of the girls who surrounded the campfire to listen to their campfire tales in every beginning of the game, got small accident on her way to join her friends when she and her friend wanted to evade their car in order to not hit a girl crossing the road. There, they visited Stillwater Mansion and found Lisa’s diary about the tortures she got while being the mansion’s prisoner.

The diary then being the clues for Reggie to stop the chained-torture for an experiment to bring death to life which had killed so many girls. Her searching to find the way to save her friends who actually had been being kidnapped and locked up in that mansion and surely to help herself to be able to go out of the mansion led her to the answer who was someone should be responsible for the whole things, and it was other than Dr. Hookman.
