My First Teacher's Day
Ahh.. First day of 365 days in one year ahead. I think it is a must for me to force my self to be more 'discipline' in blogging. Like what I will tell in this post. It's one of the most important events in my life throughout last year, 2014. Or, uhmm.. yesterday. It was my first Teacher's Day celebration as a teacher. When I was a school student, I used to celebrate it. It's a must. But I did it as a student. It means I greeted my teacher and this time, I got it from my students.
Sadly I had a class in Medistra on that day. I can't follow the ceremony. After my class in Medistra, I was in rush to SMK and the ceremony was over. The teachers and students were shaking hand alternately when I reached there. I was the only one who wore the different uniform so I was kinda shy to join them. Then one of my students approached me. A boy in sophomore. He gave me something wrapped in pink or purple paper. I was surprised and almost feeling shy because I'm not a homeroom. Fortunately I still remembered to thank him for the gift. It's a blue food carrier inside. My friends nagged me since they got nothing. Lol.
Every teachers and staffs; include the cleaning services got a jersey-like T-shirt on that Teacher's day. After the ceremony, we had breakfast in the School Hall and the Headmaster greeted the whole teachers Happy Teacher's Day. Because it was the birthday for the whole teachers in Indonesia, our headmaster gave gifts for the teachers who were born on that date. We had Nasi Urap and Nasi Tumpeng. For the Nasi Tumpeng, our headmaster advised the single teachers to eat. Who know we will meet out mate soon. I was one of the teachers who follow his advise. Lol.

IMSI's Big Family Gathering
Not so many who attended the event but there were some were willing to come all the way from out of town and even abroad. The Rector was present and also the Dean. Of course the Dean should be present. He was from this department and most of the lecturers in this department are them who used to be the students here.
The son of late Sir Perdamean came to replace his daddy and to greet his dad's friends. "Hai, my father's friends", he said. He's only a primary school boy. His daddy was one of the best lecturers we ever had. He taught with his heart. He supported us to learn, not forced to. Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross and Home by Michael Buble reminded me of him the most. It's really made an impression on my memory how he retold his struggles to achieve his current position at that time.
Me, Fani, Tami and Sari were the youngest alumni maybe. We were too clumsy to join the seniors. Yes, only for that day we were not lecturers and students but seniors and juniors. But never hope we would be brave enough to call them Kakak and Abang. Lol. Got a mug with 'Spirit of Togetherness' printed on it.

Not-so Hilarious Independence Day Celebration
I know it's too late to post about Independence Day now, but late is better than not at all. Years back, Independence Day fallen on Ramadhan fasting month for 3 years in a row and for those times, there were no any celebration which always be fulfilled by physic activities, competitions and of course the foody time. And I saw for this year celebration, people look like not so enthusiast to welcome it. I found there were still some houses didn't plug the national flagpole in their front yard and very few people put the national flag on their vehicles. Not blaming the fasting month, okay
.
Our neighborhoods always held the Day in the wide lawn owned by Alwashliyah and for this year, we just used the ground front yard because of the least number of games and participants
. Oh, Melda and me joined the Cracker Eating Competition. We joined the Mother Class because there was no class for teenagers; we were not teenager anymore, though. I'm the winner.. I'm the winner.. From the last.. Lol. Seriously I was in the last position. haha. Scolded by one of the committees due to our not-serious behave. I disturbed Mel's cracker and she revenged. hahaha.
